ROC CITY EMS
Serving the citizens of Rochester for over 65 years
Roc City EMS is a 150 plus, member-led emergency medical services labor union dedicated to improving the professional wellbeing both of our providers and our industry. We aim continuously to break down the stigmas associated with joining the profession, and build the collective knowledge and power of emergency medical service providers.
In conjunction with other EMS labor organizations, we work to secure efficient and progressive utilization of EMS's already large societal footprint, and the highest quality of care available to our community.
A LARGER FOOTPRINT
More than Just the 911 Call
MOBILE STROKE CARE
In collaboration with the University of Rochester Medical Center, members of Roc City EMS have the opportunity to bring state of the art stroke care into the field. The Mobile Stroke Unit is one of a handful in existence globally and represents the cutting edge of our industry's future.
NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE
Our members maintain a strong sense of public duty both to our community and others. Through American Medical Response's Office of Emergency Management, our members frequently volunteer for extended deployments to areas in need. Most recently, the COVID-19 outbreak saw our providers deployed to New York City with EMS personnel from across the country.
STANDBY CARE FOR LOCAL EVENTS
Almost all local sporting and entertainment events demand on site ambulance personnel. As the largest conglomeration of EMS providers in the region, our membership fill this role proudly. Behind the scenes at most local festivals, sporting event and concert, our members stand ready and equipped to respond to medical emergencies.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH EDUCATION
The youngest of the three traditional first response branches, communities nationwide are often in the dark as to what it takes to get an ambulance to the scene of their emergencies.
Our members frequently participate in sponsored events and community CPR & Stop the Bleed classes in an effort to improve patient outcomes and educate our community.
