About Our Union | Roc City EMS

Roc City EMS is comprised of approximately two hundred members who work diligently to respond to all calls for emergency medical care within the City of Rochester including Durand-Eastman Beach and the Rochester International Airport.

As a chapter of the SEIU Local 200United, our union has represented the interests of field providers and dispatchers employed by National Ambulance, Rural Metro Ambulance and now American Medical Response for over 35 years.

Our Leadership

Chairperson

Julie Purick

Julie began her time at RocCityEMS as a Paramedic in 2018, where she quickly developed a love for working in a city-based 911 system. She is currently one of the few Critical Care Medics in our Local, working closely alongside specialty transport teams from URMC. Before her appointment as Chairperson, she served as the Local's Secretary for 3 years.

Vice Chairperson

Brittany Bland

Brittany joined RocCityEMS in 2020 as an EMT-B. Although being in the limelight isn't her style, her passion for helping her co-workers drove her to seek to make a positive impact as Vice Chairperson. She received her EMT-P from Finger Lakes Community College in 2023.

Chief Steward

Steven Lupo

After receiving a Bachelor's in Public Relations from SUNY Oswego, Steven decided to pivot into healthcare and hasn't looked back since. He joined RocCityEMS in 2022 as an EMT-B, and just recently earned his EMT-P in the spring of 2024. Steven also served as the Secretary for the previous RocCityEMS leadership team.
